OJALA NIÑOS is a group of adolescents who make small rugs and mosaic glass household items.
LAS RANCHERITAS is a long-established group of women who make rugs in the traditional rug hook style. About fifteen years ago, some ex-pat women wanted to do something to help the local women earn a living. They started the rug-hook project. Then, when asked what could be done to help their daughters, the ex-pat group morphed into Mujeres en Cambio, Women in Change, which is a scholarship program for girls from high school through university.
PUREZA VERDE is an agricultural women’s cooperative growing vegetables. They sell prepared foods as well as fresh vegetables at TOSMA.
